• RTA announces new timings for service delivery during Ramadan

    Committed to deliver a number of them up to midnight

    The Customer Service Department, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has announced new timings for various services during the holy month of Ramadan including customer service centers, car-parks, public buses, Dubai Metro, marine transit modes, driving schools, and vehicle testing & registration centers.

    A number of these services will be available up to 12.00 (midnight) such as the main stations of public buses and substations of inter-city buses (Al Sabkha, Karama, Fujairah and Ajman). The main stations of inter-city bus (Al Ghubaiba and Sharjah) will work 24 hours a day and the metro stations feeder buses (Union Square) will operate up to 01.00 am.

    “Adjusting the service delivery timing is aimed at improving the level of services delivered by RTA agencies to all members of the community in keeping with the daily practices observed during the holy month of Ramadan; which are quite different from the daily routines during the remainder of the year,” said Ahmed Hassan Mahboob, Director of Customer Service, RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.

    “The new changes made to the working hours will be: Customer service centers (Umm Al Ramoul, Al Barsha and Deira) from 08:00 am to 02:00 pm, Al Safa Center from 08:00 am to 05:30 pm, Al Karama Center from 09:00 am to 02:00 pm, Al Tawar Center from 09:00 am to 05:30 pm, and Al Awir Center will have two working sessions: from 09:00 am to 02:00 pm and from 08:00 pm to 11:30 pm.

    The timing of paid parking zones during the evening time of Ramadan will be changed and the new parking timing will be from 08:00 am to 01:00 pm and from 07:00 am to 12:00 (midnight). Fish Market paid parking timing will be from 08:00 am to 01:00 pm and from 04:00 pm to 11:00 pm throughout all week days.

    “Operational timing of public buses (Dubai Bus) will be as follows: Main stations such as Gold Souk, Al Ghubaiba and Al Satwa from 06:00 am to 12:00 am (midnight) throughout week days. The timing of subsidiary stations, such as Al Qusais, Al Qouz Industrial and Hor Al Anz will be from 06:00 am to 12:00 (midnight) throughout week days.

    Inter-city bus timing will be as follows: Main stations such Al Ghubaiba and Sharjah: 24 hours a day, subsidiary stations such as Al Sabkha, Karama, Fujairah and Ajman from 06:00 am to 12:00 (midnight), and Abu Dhabi from 06:00 am to 11:30 pm. The timing of stations offering feeder bus service to the metro such as Ibn Battuta and Union Square will be from 06.00 am up to 01.00 am.

    “Dubai Metro timing will be from 05:50 am up to 12:00 (midnight) from Saturday to Wednesday, from 05:50 am up to 01:00 am on Thursday, and from 01:00 pm to 01:00 am on Friday. These timings will be applicable at all metro stations.

    “Marine transit modes timing will be as follows: Water Bus from 08:00 am to 12:00 am (midnight), Water Taxi from 10:00 am to 12:00 am (midnight), and Ferry Dubai from 10:00 am to 12:00 (midnight) on all week days.
    “The working hours of vehicle testing & registration centers during Ramadan from Saturday to Thursday will be from 08:00 am up to 03:00 pm, and from 09:00 pm to 12:00 am (midnight) at all service-provider outlets.

    “Drivers testing timings will be from 08:00 am up to 01:00 pm from Sunday to Thursday in respect of all categories. Motorbike drivers testing timings will be from 07:00 am to 12:00 (midday) from Sunday to Thursday.
    “These changes are made as part of RTA strategy aimed at delivering classy services to all spectrums of the community at the highest global standards applicable in this regard in a way that meets customer needs of these services during the holy month of Ramadan,” said Mahboob in a final remark.
