RTA Briefs Delegation Of Abu Dhabi Dot About Rail Processes
A delegation from the Depart of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi, comprising a plethora of new recruits & fresh graduates, has recently visited the RTA to review the best global practices adopted in the operation of the Dubai Metro, and made an orientation tour of several metro stations during which they were fully familiarized with the rail processes in place.
Kawther Kazim, Director of RTA Human Resources, said: “The RTA is directed by H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director, to offer all expertise and practices at the disposal of all federal & local government entities. This particularly applies to fresh graduates who will shoulder in future the responsibility of preserving the achievements of the UAE and carry on with the sweeping development drive. This can be materialized through the transfer of knowledge & expertise with the aim of keeping these new staffs in touch with the best practices adopted in public transport field; which in turn will step up the cooperative links between the RTA and other entities.
The delegation was received at the Mall of the Emirates Metro Station where it was given a full briefing about the RTA, including its Mission & Vision of Safe & Smooth Transport for All along with an explanation of its strategic objectives & goals tailored to serve the community. The delegation was then escorted in a ride to the Union Station where it attended to a thorough briefing by Serco Co, the operator of the Dubai Metro, covering various rail operations. Then they left to Rashidiya Station and from there they headed to the Dubai Metro Depot at Rashidiya where they were acquainted with the role of the Depot in performing maintenance of trains and checking their readiness before being set in motion, besides cleaning carriages and other pre-operation formalities.
The visiting delegation of Abu Dhabi DoT hailed the visit; which they said reflected the positive attitudes of the RTA and its willingness to interact and cooperate with various external community entities, adding that such approach was bound to enable others keep abreast of the best practices in place, share expertise and gain knowledge empower them to carry out their projects in a fairly smooth manner. This is particularly relevant here as trains are amongst the new transit means in the UAE and accordingly many entities will be focusing on benefiting from RTA experience in this regard, they added.
