The Ajman Palace Hotel To Join Road Show In India
The Ajman Palace Hotel will participate in a road show in India from 5th to 9th April to showcase its luxurious facilities to trade partners as well as potential customers in four metro cities including New Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai
Organised by Dubai’s premier destination management company Lama Tours to promote the UAE as a destination in India and to assess the unique needs of the Indian market, the road show will also include representatives of leading airlines, travel and tourism companies as well as other hotels.
Ferghal Purcell, General Manager of The Ajman Palace Hotel, said that the hotel will be participating for the first time in a road show in India. But he was confident about the prospects of making inroads into the nation’s outbound tourism market.
He said that India is currently the third most important source market for the UAE, after Saudi Arabia and the UK, as per a report by Business Monitor International (BMI), which also reveals that the hotel industry is heavily geared towards luxury and business travellers.
Ferghal said, “India is a very significant market for us. The road show will help us to penetrate further the market by meeting face to face with potential partners and customers. Our primary objective is to spread awareness about The Ajman Palace Hotel and its fabulous facilities including the outstanding wedding and convention facilities. Road shows such as these play a crucial role in boosting the number of inbound tourists. It will allow us to understand the requirements of visitors from India and tailor best packages to suit their needs".
According to a recent report by the BMI, the UAE tourism industry will continue to expand in 2015, with 7.6 per cent year-on-year growth in tourist arrivals and 9.3 per cent increase in tourism receipts. The report predicted that total tourism receipts would cross the $20 billion mark in 2015. Inbound tourists will reach 16.47 million this year.
The forecast is supported by the tourism statistics 2014 released by the Ajman Tourism Development Department, which shows that the Ajman tourism revenues reached nearly AED300 million in 2014 compared to AED220 million in 2013. The number of hotel and hotel apartments’ guests in 2014 increased to 850,000 compared to 600,000 in the previous year. In 2014, average hotel occupancy rates reached 65 per cent.
