Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority Supports "UAE Clean Up Campaign 2012"
Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority participated for the first time in the “UAE Clean Up Campaign 2012” that was organized by the RAK Free Zone and the Emirates Environment Group (EEG), on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Al Hamra area in Ras Al Khaimah.
Ras Al Khaimah TDA was delighted to gather 235 team members from 11 hotels, resorts and different tourism entities in the emirate, to take part in this excellent initiative emphasizing the importance of the local community and its different organisations towards a sustainable environment.
Banyan Tree Al Wadi, Banyan Tree Ras Al Khaimah Beach, Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa, The Cove Rotana Resort & Spa, Bin Majid Beach Hotel, Bin Majid Beach resort, Acacia Hotel, Al Hamra Village Golf & Beach Resort, Al Hamra Beach Palace Resort, The Mangrove Hotel and Iceland Waterpark were among the participants and were delighted to be part of this sustainable initiative.
Commenting on this event Victor Louis, Chief Operating Officer, Ras Al Khaimah TDA: “We are proud to part of the environment sustainability initiative “UAE Clean Up Campaign 2012” for the first time. We will also continue adopting sustainable practices in tourism and hospitality sectors, where we extend full support to the tourism entities in the emirate that have launched their own CSR campaigns and are promoting environmental consciousness”.
At “UAE Clean Up Campaign 2012” in Ras Al Khaimah, more than 2,000 bags of garbage and 6,000 kg of waste were collected by over 1,000 participants from hotels and resorts, which participated under the umbrella of Ras Al Khaimah TDA along with different government entities and a number of schools.
