"Islamic Arts" Workshops Held At SLC
The Art & Educational Center at Sharjah Ladies Club held several “Islamic Arts” workshops, 3 years in a row, and that is within the activities of the 15th Sharjah Islamic Arts festival, organized by Arts Management at the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information.
The workshops included various types of Islamic arts presented by artist Forouzan Amiri; with proficient experience in the Art (painting) teaching.
The workshops held on a spam of two days were attended by a large number of ladies, who were introduced to different types of Islamic arts such as acrylic painting. The ladies were also introduced to the Islamic arts history and what distinguishes it from other types of fine arts. Moreover, Forouzan also spoke of the role of Islamic arts in preserving the heritage over the years.
“We undertake through the festival to contribute in the definition of Islamic art through establishing specialized workshops, taking part in continuing after the festival in regular courses welcoming all ages.
This festival is considered an excellent chance to introduce Islamic art with all its prosperous content, in crafts, painting, patterns and colours. We appreciate all the efforts of the Arts Management, and all those involved in the success of the festival”, said, Sara Al Marzouqi, Art & Educational Center Manager.
Moreover, the artist supervised the participant’s paintings and also provided advices and tips which introduced the basics of Islamic arts and how it should be practiced in details.
It is worthy to mention that the workshops held were attended by a large number of ladies, where 25 ladies attended the first workshop, while 28 ladies attended the second. Both workshops were conducted by Forouzan Amiri, introducing Islamic art to the participants through painting with different techniques.
In conclusion, the ladies were able to keep all their art pieces done during the workshops.
