First Gulf Properties Celebrates Womens’ Health In Line With International Women’s Day
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, real estate service provider specialising in end-to-end property solutions First Gulf Properties (FGP), held a workshop today titled “Women’s Health and Wellbeing” for all female staff members at the Real Estate Department, First Gulf Bank (FGB) Operation Department, FGB Audit Department and FGB’s Training Team. The workshop was successfully organised in collaboration with Al Noor Hospital and took place in FGB’s Business School premises in Abu Dhabi.
The agenda was led by Dr. Sikander Sohani, MBBS, B. Ed, M.Ed. Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and a Health Educator. It promoted the adoption of a healthy lifestyle for working women while coping with all the daily stress they face through the integrated comprehensive base approach for the prevention and control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) that contributes to 60% of total deaths globally. The NCDs that were discussed through the workshop include cancer, osteoporosis, depression, menopause, obesity, low blood pressure, diabetes in addition to other diseases.
Commenting on the workshop, Jasim Al Ali, CEO of FGP, said: “At First Gulf Properties, we fully understand and acknowledge the important role of our female employees in achieving the successes we have to date. The workshop reflects our appreciation of their efforts and our commitment to helping them lead a healthier life where they can achieve prosperity and provide their finest work.”
“Our efforts follow the great initiatives taken by the UAE to emphasise the role of females in our society. Our objective is to put all of our efforts together to guarantee our staff’s full satisfaction to help us work towards a healthier and more successful work community.”
Moreover, the workshop included an explanatory lecture on the typical healthy lifestyle that should be adopted while demonstrating the importance of staying in a good physical state. It also encompassed a group discussion about various issues faced by working females
Dr. Sikander Sohani, from Al Noor Hospital, said: “We believe in providing the highest quality of comprehensive prevention care and support. Women are the key stakeholder in development of the community today and in the future. Because they pass through different pattern of life cycle naturally, Al Noor especially focuses on women’s development by providing community awareness on prevention of health problems like breast and cervical cancer, menopause and osteoporosis with promotion of regular screening, follow-up and appropriate referral if needed. The key message is to enhance knowledge, skills, create and sustain healthy life style”.
After highlighting the concept of “Prevention is better than cure” through a case study, the workshop was concluded with an interactive Q&A session where attendees posed questions that Dr. Sohani helped clarify with over 25 years of work experience in the field of healthcare and medical education.
It is worth mentioning that FGP and in collaboration with Al Noor Hospital took part in last year’s World Heart Day (WHD), reflecting its belief in promoting a healthy lifestyle amongst the UAE society and its ceaseless efforts to educate its employees on health issues.
