Commercial Bank of Dubai and the National Olympic Committee sign MoU
Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the National Olympic Committee (NOC), and the Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD). The agreement is part of NOC’s strategy to link the commercial sector with UAE’s robust sporting movement.
The MoU was signed by Mohammed Al Kamali, NOC Secretary General, and Mr. Yacoub Yousuf Al Serkal, Deputy Chief Executive of Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD), during a ceremony held at CBD’s headquarters. The partnership with CBD represents the beginning of a new era for creative Olympic work in the country.
At the beginning of his speech at the press conference held on the occasion, H.E. Yousuf Yaqoob Al Serkal, UAE NOC Vice President, Chairman of Executive Office, conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Sheikh Ahmed and the committee’s board members and its staff, expressing his great pleasure on the strategic partnership with CBD, noting that this new partnership will directly benefit the country’s youth and boost sporting activities.
He stressed that the initiative by CBD to partner-up with NOC reflects the Bank’s genuine interest, as a national economic organization, in the youth and sports sector.
Al Serkal noted that it was not surprising to see such an initiative from CBD, as the Bank has launched many other initiatives to support sport in the country.
He concluded his speech by thanking the Board of Directors and staff of CBD.
He stated that he believed this agreement marks the beginning of a fruitful and constructive cooperation, the benefits of which will be reflected in the near future by the UAE’s athletes.
He congratulated the UAE’s Football Association on its qualification for the 30th Olympic Games taking place in London this year.
