Mirdif City Centre Hosts First-ever "World Of Puppets" Event For Dubai Summer Surprises
International Puppet Festival Showcases World-Class Talent from USA, Italy, Burma, Austria, Poland and Egypt
Duringthis year’s 15th edition of DSS, families and children will continue to enjoy spectacular shows as the first-ever “World of Puppets” event launches tomorrow at Mirdif City Centre, owned by Majid Al Futtaim Properties and a strategic partner of Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE).
From July 6th – July 14th and showcasing the amazing talent of puppeteers from the USA, Italy, Burma, Austria, Poland and Egypt, the “World of Puppets” at Mirdif City Centre is a puppet festival which creatively brings to life the cultural heritage of these countries through universally appealing stories, stage and roaming performances. There will also be a puppets exhibition and special interactive puppet-making workshops for children, giving them the exciting opportunity to learn the groundwork involved in producing this incredibly creative and technical folk art.

Get ready to be blown away by the extravagant sets and drama of the Marionetten Theatre from Vienna, Austria. The colourful and magical performance is set in a forest, takes the audience through a dream world filled with fairies, peacocks, unicorns and butterflies.
Another famous participating theatre is BajPomorski from Poland which continues to excite both young and adult audience with its experience in showcasing the beauty of the world of fairy tales, fables and legends.
Be ready to be impressed with The Paolo Papparotto Theatre of Italy as it recaptures, and in some ways, reinvents the ancient Veneto puppetry tradition through its famous Arlecchino and Pantalone characters.
Meanwhile, one of the most-awaited performances is the HTWEOO Theatre from Burma, who has gained international recognition due to their technically skilled performances and the superb dexterity of their puppeteers. The Burmese puppet tradition goes back many centuries and lends a touch of realism to the on-stage performances, expressed emotions and body language of the marionettes.
Featuring more than 350 shows, The “World of Puppets” will also showcase the genius of puppeteers from other famous participating theatres like The Puppet Theatre from Egypt.
Admission at the “World of Puppets” is free and the event will run daily from July 6th – July 14th, 2pm-10pm at Mirdif City Centre, hosted in the Central Galleria.
