• DWTC Joins Hands With Dubai SME At GES-EVA To Provide Growth Opportunities For Region’s Small And Medium Businesses

    Dubai SME sees GES-EVA tie-up enhancing potential to facilitate development of entrepreneurial activity and job creation

    Reciprocal partnership will enable Dubai SME members to gain full access to the region’s SME ecosystem

    Dubai SME to host its members on a 700 sqm exhibition space

    Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the host of Global Entrepreneurship Summit - Entrepreneurial Ventures of Arabia (GES-EVA), has joined hands with Dubai SME, the agency of the Department of Economic Development mandated to develop the small and medium enterprise sector, to promote the participation of the Emirate’s SMEs at the much-awaited event to be held from December 11 to 12, 2012.

    As the Industry Partner of GES-EVA, Dubai SME is offering small and medium businesses the opportunity to benefit from their access to the larger SME ecosystem in the Middle East and North Africa region. The participating companies can also meet and interact with academia, investors, procurement managers across the supply chain and global investors, thus gaining added exposure and potential opportunities for growth. Dubai SME will showcase its Membersat a dedicated pavilion that spans 700 sq m of exhibition space at the GES-EVA Summit. A number of companies under the Dubai SME umbrella will also take part in the exhibition.

    GES-EVA brings together high-ranking policymakers from the MENA region, prominent global business leaders, international financiers and C-level procurement decision makers who have a strong role in the Pan Arab economic ecosystem, in addition to a number of SME pioneers, and representatives of elite companies, as well as individuals who wish to adopt the modern concepts in the development of entrepreneurship in the Arab world.

    UAE Government is hosting GES-EVA with the support, organization and participation of the DWTC to offer key stakeholders a clear insight into the region’s new business climate. Dedicated to the sustainable enhancement of regional small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs, the event will enable the establishment of new businesses, in turn stimulating job creation and economic growth across the Arab world.

    Formed in 2002 as Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, Dubai SME has expanded the entity’s scope as a supportive mechanism for the entire SME sector in the Emirate. Dubai SME encourages and facilitates the development of business and entrepreneurial activity among young UAE nationals and also acts as a catalyst in the development and growth of SME as a key driver of economic development.

    GES-EVA is open to all start-ups in the SME ecosystem, aspiring young entrepreneurs, accelerators, corporates, government officials, policy makers, funds, and incubators among others. High-ranking policymakers from the MENA region, prominent global business leaders, international financiers and C-level procurement decision makers who have a strong role in the Pan Arab economic ecosystem will take part in the summit and exhibition.
