Social Fitness Concept Strides into the UAE
Dubai’s discerning residents can look forward to the opening of the region’s first urban gym at Silverene Tower in Dubai Marina.
TribeFit is not just a gym but a club, according to Fortes Holdings, the group behind this first-of-its-kind health club scheduled to open in February 2013. TribeFitis about ’Social Fitness’ - getting fit and connecting with people. It’s a health club concept that combines a top-of-the-line gym, eat-healthy café and chilled out lounge set in a raw, urban, industrial environment. Offering a fresh new approach to fitness, Tribefit members work out, hang out, create friendships and meet others who have a common interest in fitness, a socially active lifestyle and having genuine fun.
Hence the club offers programs for all fitness levels, the best equipment and the most qualified trainers, as well as a packed social calendar.
Overlooking Dubai Marina lake, TribeFit spans over 22,000 sq. ft. of workout space. The facilities include studios for strength (with Cybex machines), cardio, group exercise (including all the Les Mills classes), yoga (that will include various forms of yoga), spin, boxing and circuit training. TribeFit also offers personal training, beach boot-camps, and access to outdoor facilities for 5-a-side football, volleyball and swimming. To encourage social interaction, TribeFit has hangout lounges, an eat-healthy cafe, and a cinema area.
Fortes Holdings has recruited a team not only qualified in fitness but also skilled in customer service and decidedly extroverted so that it delivers on its promise of "social fitness" and, as the company says, "really give the members a great time when they come to the club."
TribeFit has priced its membership at AED 399 per month which the company states is "great value for money" considering the services offered.
"The working environment in Dubai can be quite frenetic and people are hard-pressed to find time to balance staying fit and healthy with socialising and networking. TribeFit has been designed with this in mind. With our amazing workout facilities combined with a packed calendar of fitness and social activities, all members have to do is show up, plug in and play while the Tribe team takes care of the rest," says Diana Gaskell, the CEO (also known as Tribal Guru) of TribeFit.
"We are looking for opportunities for a roll-out of further units in the UAE, but our efforts are concentrated right now on the opening of the first. We are pleased with how the market has received the brand even though we are only in pre-launch stage," added Ajay Mankani, director of the parent company, Fortes Holdings.
