World’s Biggest Airport - Dubai World Central - Opens For General Aviation Business
The world’s biggest airport has opened to general aviation with the new VIP terminal at Dubai World Central, the 140 square kilometre, master-planned aerotropolis close to Jebel Ali in Dubai receiving its first aircraft.
The facility, which is being managed by Jet Aviation and Execujet, has this week received 55 aircraft - 45 of which are on display at the Middle East Business Aviation (MEBA) event - the largest in the exhibition’s five show history - which runs at Dubai World Central until Thursday evening (December 13).
"This superb facility was opened to receive MEBA traffic and will now increasingly service the VIP aviation market, giving easy access particularly to the new Dubai area," said Paul Griffiths, CEO, Dubai Airports.
A total of 385 exhibitors from 45 countries are taking part in MEBA 2012, which is organised by F&E Aerospace on behalf of the Middle East Business Association (MEBAA) - the turnout represents a 14% increase on the 2010 show.
