• Official Opening Of Indian Pavilion At Global Village

    The Indian Pavilion at Global Village, the region’s leading Cultural, Shopping and Entertainment family outdoor destination, was officially opened last week, under the auspices of Indian Consul-General in Dubai His Excellency Mr. Sanjay Verma, in the presence of Mr. Saeed Ali Bin Redha, CEO of Global Village, Mr. Sunil Bhatia, CEO of E4Entertainment and Indian Pavilion in addition to a large number of VIPs and guests.

    Spread across an area of 11,500 square meter, guests toured the Indian Pavilion which marks the biggest pavilion at the theme park.

    With more than 300 stalls, exhibiting and vending the most authentic Indian products varying from cotton, silk, chiffon fabrics to traditional leather made sandals, handbags, wallets and accessories.

    India is also known for its pashminas, scarves and hand-woven items. Indian carpet exhibitors are also present to express Indian forms and shapes of hand-woven natural silk and fleece.

    Table cloths, bed sheets, cushion covers and home accessories, embroidered or plain, silk or cotton, are displayed across the stalls to highlight Indian craftsmanship and fulfill the demand for such rare, reasonably priced aesthetic items.

    Real Jewellery and gold are showcased at famous participating shops such as Atlas, Joyalukkas and Sky Jewellery. Faux Bijous and accessories from bangles, rings, earrings, necklaces and endless glitters, are showcased across various stands to complement any wardrobe collection.

    Art is showcased in the form of hand carved wooden items, copper, decorative items and small wall paintings. Talismans, whether it’s for fortune, energy or a lasting happy marriage, are displayed at large to express the essence of legendry Indian culture.

    With snack corners and the Indian food court, visitors can enjoy a taste of the varying Indian cuisines. Not miss is the fresh coconut milk and the endless tastes and spices which make out regions and states in the subcontinent.

    The foremost strong notes remain those of the Indian incense, and sandal wood, oud, musk and a range of Indian oil perfumes. Famous Indian brands of cosmetics, hand and body lotions, and hair products remind visitors of India’s world status in pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry.

    The Indian Pavilion at Global Village resembles a true model of a miniature India. It is the look and feel of a country known for its wonders, from Taj Mahal, to the Maharajas and the multi ethnicities with a populous of more than 1.2 billion people embraced by its 28 states and 7 union territories.

    Children can also enjoy the rides of merry-go-rounds at the pavilion. Indian Folk group also performs at the stage located within the pavilion so visitors can get the feel of Indian cultural dances.

    Another main attraction at the Indian Pavilion is the Demo artists who had been specially flown from India, and showcase live demos for their craft i.e. Biedri work and their skills of drawing tattoos (Henna), an art loved and appreciated by the flocking crowds.
