Fitness surgeries see a surge in Dubai
Dubai, UAE, In a clearer interpretation to the latest official UAE Health Ministry calculations recording that 44.6% of women in UAE will be obese by 2015, surgical centers are recording an escalation in the percentage of patients, especially Emirati’s, opting for fitness surgery services as an alternative to gym exertions and labors of fitness centers.
UAE Health Ministry calculations do not stand alone. The available study released by the World Health Organization((WHO) demonstrate findings that show 67% of Emirati men and 72% of Emirati women are overweight. More disturbingly, approximately 39.9% of Emirati women are obese, ranking the seventh highest in the world, while 25.6% of men are obese, ranking the ninth highest.
Commenting on the high percentage of obesity in the UAE, Dr. Sanjay Parashar, founder of Cocoona says: “At Cocoona, 25% of our patients are Emiratis. Although they come with different requests whether cosmetic or otherwise, a notable percentage of our Emirati patients visit us for fitness surgeries. With the Emirati population contributing to an increase in obesity, fitness surgery is becoming an exceedingly popular option, especially with physical limitations and hectic lifestyles rendering gyms and fitness centers as more difficult or more time consuming alternatives.
Dubai-based surgical center, Cocoona eloquently answers the need for fitness surgery, with a multitude of services, including but not limited to: body slimming and contouring, weight loss treatment, fat transfer, cellulite treatment, tummy tucks, waist sculpting, weight management and botox. Furthermore, founder of Cocoona, Dr. Sanjay Parashar is amongst the few specialists in the UAE who can competently perform Reconstructive Plastic Surgeries.
Elaborating on the necessity of fitness surgeries, Dr. Sanjay Parashar comments: “At Cocoona, we keep up with trends. If we recognize a need and desire for fitness surgeries, we provide it, and to the best of our abilities. Additionally, we believe that obesity is an illness that should be tended to and if we can address and curb this rising tendency towards obesity, we will.”
