Free Medical Camp By ASTER, ILA, Consulate General Of India And Malabar Gold And Diamonds Gets Overwhelming Response
Over 420 people benefitted from the services from the medical camp, which is conducted quarterly at the Consulate General of India premises
Free health check-ups, consultations and medicines are provided to underprivileged workers as part of this camp
ASTER, a leading healthcare provider, part of DM Healthcare, the premier healthcare conglomerate in the Middle East and India, conducted a free medical camp in association with the Indian Ladies Association (ILA), the Consulate General of India and Malabar Gold and Diamonds. The camp, which is an ongoing effort to reach out to the low-income strata of the society and provide them with free healthcare services, was held at the Consulate General of India premises in Dubai recently. The camp received an overwhelming response with over 420 people benefitting from it.
The medical camp, being organized every quarterly, aims to provide free healthcare services to the underprivileged Indian workers living in the UAE, many of whom belong to the low income salary group and are not covered by any medical insurance.
The Consulate General of India supports the camp by hosting it regularly at its premises in Dubai, and urging people to benefit from the services provided.
Commenting on the medical camp, Dr. Azad Moopen, Chairman, DM Healthcare, said “We are pleased with the outcome of the camp. At DM Healthcare, immense emphasis is laid on the importance of routine health check-ups as we strongly believe that prevention is better than cure. We have tried to reach out to a wide number of people, especially those that belong to low income groups and do not have any medical insurance, through this continuous initiative. We look forward to treating more patients at our next medical camp venture.”
Many doctors across various medical capacities from ASTER were a part of the medical camp, including a panel of General Physicians, ENT Specialists, Dentist, Orthopedic specialist, and Dermatologist.ASTER also provided for a complete paramedic staff, along with a number of volunteers who contributed to the camp’s success.
The health camp is part of an ongoing program which ensures that the needy are able to avail of its services on a regular basis the general check-ups and consultancy services. People are also provided with free medicines by Malabar Gold & Diamonds to ensure regular and continuous treatment of any ailments.
Educational material on road safety and basic life support training was provided to the attendants at the medical camp as part of DM Healthcare’s ongoing Safety Tips for Road Accident Prevention (STRAP) and Be Empathetic, Act Timely (BEAT) campaign. The campaigns are in continuation of DM Healthcare’s commitment towards creating a healthier society.
Commenting on the camp, Mrs. Sangeetha Verma, President, Indian Ladies Association, said: “We have received an overwhelming response towards our medical camp once again. This initiative is our effort to reach out to people who do not have the time and money to afford regular check-ups, and are not even aware about the importance of good health. We are very thankful to DM Healthcare, for their constant support throughout the initiative.”
The medical camp was part of the ASTER’s Community Good Health Programme (CGHP), under DM Healthcare.
