Carpet Oasis Sales Surge To Dh 6.5M In A Week
Carpet Oasis which is organized every year by Dubai Customs during Dubai Shopping Festival, has generated sales worth Dh 6.5 million since a week from its launch at Dubai World Trade Centre.
Khalid Al Muadhin, Head of the Organizing Committee for Carpet Oasis revealed that 1,000 connoisseurs of carpets visited the Oasis during the first week, and exhibitors sold 270 pieces worth Dh6.5million.
Al Muadhin explained that this year’s Carpet Oasis, which started from December 27 and will continue till January 4, is showcasing the rarest and most valuable collections of handmade carpets specially imported by the exhibitors at this fascinating show. Carpet Oasis, which is held in an area over 7,000 square metres at Dubai World Trade Centre (Za’abeel Hall 3), is exhibiting over 170.000 handmade carpets, and involves the participation by up to 50 companies featuring exclusive premium luxurious handmade carpets from the world’s leading carpet producing countries renowned for thriving carpet weaving industries, namely, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and India.
Khalid Al Muadhin added that around 1,000 connoisseurs of carpet visited the Oasis within the first week. Carpet Oasis also gives shoppers spending Dh 500 or more the opportunity to win one of 12 Nissan models at a daily raffle draw. The winner can choose to drive away a Micra Hatchback, Sunny Sedan, Maxima, Qashqai, Murano, Patrol, Juke, Altima, 370Z, Xterra, Pathfinder, or Armada.
