Indian Ghazal Maestro Pankaj Udhas To Perform At Dubai Shopping Festival On 10Th January
Indian Ghazal Maestro Pankaj Udhas will perform a repertoire of songs from his popular albums and films , at a musical evening in Dubai titled ‘Shaam-e-Ghazal’, as part of the exciting line-up of activities during the 18th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival.
The musical evening with the Ghazal star will be held on Thursday, January 10 at Sheikh Saeed Hall 1, Dubai World Trade Centre from 8.30pm – 11.30 pm.
Pankaj Udhas, who is the recipient of the Padmashri award, the fourth highest civilian honour bestowed by the Government of India, is widely credited in the Indian music industry with bringing the Ghazal style to the realm of popular music.
Udhas rose to fame for singing in the 1986 film "Naam", in which his song "Chitthi Aayee Hai" became an instant hit. He has recorded more than 50 albums since then and tours the world as an accomplished Ghazal and playback singer for Bollywood films.
Udhas has received several other awards during his distinguished career and given a special felicitation at the Wembley Conference Centre in London. He has also been accorded Honorary Citizenship of Lubbock, Texas in the United States.
