Mall Of The Emirates Enthrall Dubai Shopping Festival Visitors With Unique Shows
Visitors to the Mall of the Emirates are being regaled by a selection of shows and activities, as part of the citywide celebrations marking the 18th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival. The evenings have been coming alive at the mall with presentations of dance performances from around the world and with a special “Living Frames” show by a troupe of trained dancers.
The “Living Frames” is one of the most popular dance shows being held on a specially built stage in the mall’s main atrium. The show features seven dancers dressed in colourful costumes that have a touch of the grand old European ball dances about them – with a novelty. Surrounding their heads are rectangular silver-coloured frames that are replicas of the frames popular with old paintings and portraits. Swaying and dancing to a lively musical composition, the women simultaneously mime the various moods and emotions that human beings go through, seemingly “framed” in a living portrait – all to great applause from a throng of mall-goers.
The dancers are especially popular among children, who are so taken by their piquant costumes and movements that they are queuing up to have their photos clicked with the performer after the show – perhaps to proudly show them to their friends at school.
