Al Tayer Motors And Ford Celebrate Record Sales Success In 2012
UAE Sales Of Ford And Lincoln Vehicles Up 55 Per Cent Over 2011
Al Tayer Motors, one of the UAE’s premier automotive dealerships, celebrated the record 2012 sales success of Ford and Lincoln vehicles in the UAE at a gathering held at The Meydan Hotel.
The event hosted by Ford Middle East was attended by senior officials from Ford Motor Company including Hal Feder, Director, Export & Growth; Kalyana Sivagnanam, Director - Ford Middle East and Sub Saharan Africa, Export & Growth; Fritz Ahadi, Marketing Director, Export & Growth; Don Conroy, Director of Customer Service, Export & Growth; and Larry Prein, Managing Director, Ford Middle East as well as Al Tayer Motors’ top management including Saeed Al Tayer, Managing Director; Ashok Khanna, Chief Executive Officer and Martin Penny, General Manager, Ford and Lincoln Sales. Ford sales teams from all over the UAE were also invited to the event.
“We registered the highest-ever sales growth for Ford and Lincoln vehicles in 2012, up 55 per cent over 2011, exceeding expectations of Ford Motor Company. Introduction of new models, enhanced service offerings, refurbished service centres and value-added offers across various models have all contributed to the growth,” said Ashok Khanna.
Best performing nameplates in the Ford line-up in trucks, large and mid-size vehicles include F-150 with an increase of 221 per cent; Escape up by 134 per cent; Edge by 85 per cent and Expedition up by 58 per cent. Among sedans, the ever-popular Mustang was the star performer with sales up by 67 per cent; Taurus up 57 per cent; Fusion up 47 per cent and the Focus registered a 27 per cent increase in sales over the previous year.

The 2012 sales success caps a winning year for Al Tayer Motors with Ford, as one sales advisor from the Sheikh Zayed Road showroom in Dubai won the Ford Export & Growth Vehicle Walk-around Presentation World Cup title in October in Dearborn, Michigan.
Additionally, Al Tayer Motors’ service team kept the flag flying high last month at Ford Motor Company’s 2012 edition of the Service Excellence World Cup among dealers within the entire Middle East region, clinching awards for Best Service Advisor, Best Parts Advisor and Best After-Sales Team.
