Zuma Dubai Adds To Its Growing List Of International Accolades
Dubai branch of award-wining culinary brand named ‘Best Asian’ at the 2013 BCC Good Food Awards Middle East
Ranked in Mr Porter’s ‘World’s Best Bars’ round up for 2013
ZUMA Dubai, the multi-award winning restaurant, lounge and bar concept has added two prestigious awards to its trophy list this week. Last night the DIFC venue was named ‘Best Asian’ at the 2013 edition of the BBC Good Food Awards Middle East, whilst in London, Zuma Dubai’s bar was also singled our by global retail and taste making site Mr Porter for including in its top ten ‘World’s Best Bars’ round up.
Hosted by the magazine of the same name the BBC Good Food Awards Middle East celebrate the very best of the UAE’s chefs, restaurants and food brands. Nominations for each category are based on over 2,000 individual votes in conjunction with the verdict of an independent panel of judges. Each judge visited every restaurant anonymously and awarded votes based on specific criteria of service, quality, ambience and attention to detail.
Edited in London, Mr Porter is the global online retail destination for men’s style, matching 180 leading fashion brands with cutting edge editorial content from various international cities. Just ten drinking destinations were listed in its recent ‘World’s Best Bar’ round up, including Please Don’t Tell in New York, Eau-De-Vie in Sydney, Experimental Cocktail Club in Paris and Dukes in London. Zuma Dubai was selected off the back of its regular placement at the top of Middle Eastern bar hot lists and mention was also made of head barman Jimmy Barrat, who was placed second in the 2012 Diageo World Class Bartending Awards.
These two new awards further build on Zuma Dubai’s growing body of international awards, following its placement at #83 in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants in May 2012. Such entries are instrumental in driving the Zuma brand forward in its fifth year of operation.
