• DREI Grants Certified International Property Specialist’s Designation

    The Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI), the educational arm of Dubai Land Department (LD) will introduce the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) program in February. This program was introduced for the first time in the GCC region by DREI. It allows real estate professionals to join a global network of accredited experts and specialists and empowers them to work in international environment. The CIPS course is part of the strategic partnership between DREI and the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

    Mahmoud El Burai, the Managing Director of DREI said “after the success of CIPS program in the past two years and due to requests from real estate professionals and their desire to obtain CIPS certificate, we decided to present this program for the third year in a row”. He noted that the CIPS course is scheduled to start in February 24 in English language and will be introduced in Arabic language in April. The CIPS is equivalent to advanced and international experience and excellent understanding of the needs of international investors. The certificate is recognized by 40 countries worldwide.

    Attendees of CIPS program will be introduced to an overview of the business environment in the real estate sector internationally, including the flow of capital, currencies, government legislation and cultures. The program will focus on building cultural knowledge of doing business and enhancing professional confidence to serve global markets and qualifying foreign dealers.

    DREI’s vision is to develop and enhance the real estate professionals working in the market by applying and teaching the best practices according to El Burai. The institute links regional professionals to their international networks so they benefit from global expertise and foster cooperation with international counterparts to market properties for foreign investors. The CIPS is an opportunity to better understand the international real estate markets, the dimensions and economic, social and political aspects that affect the sector.     The instructors of this course are Aida Turbow and Dr. Georges Maurice. Turbow has over 25 years of experience in real estate strategic planning in various real estate markets. She is advising NAR in matters related to international expansion. Dr. Maurice is an international expert and DREI’s accredited real estate trainer. He has more than 30 years of experience and holds CIPS certificate and a member of the International Real Estate Federation.
