Authentic Portuguese Restaurant, Picante, Launches In Dubai
Four Points By Sheraton Bur Dubai officially opened its much-anticipated Portuguese restaurant, Picante, at a vibrant VIP opening event last night.
Guests were treated to a visual and gastronomic feast as authentic Portuguese food was freshly prepared in the unique open kitchen and served throughout the rustic, home-style restaurant and on the poolside terrace.
The menu has been carefully created over many months by Picante’s resident Portuguese chef, Luis Salgueiro, who was recruited specifically from the Algarve.
Dishes such as Camarao Grelhado com Molho de Citrinos (grilled prawns in citrus sauce), Bacalhau a Braz, (flakes of cod flavoured with onion, garlic and parsley with potato sticks and egg) and of course the world famous Cataplana, which comprises a smorgasbord of the freshest, highest quality seafood served in the traditional copper Cataplana pan, all delighted diners on the night.
Those with a sweet tooth were not disappointed with the signature Pasteis de Nata, the renowned Portuguese custard tarts, which are expected to be a highly sought after dessert item on Picante’s extensive menu.
Sanjeev Gohlan, General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton Bur Dubai, said, "We have been delighted with the reactions of our guests. We wanted to offer truly authentic Portuguese food and atmosphere, and as such a great deal of attention has been put into the details. Everything from the dishes on the menu, to the olive oil that we use and the beverages that we serve, as well as the interiors and ambience, has been designed to recreate the experience of a traditional town restaurant from the Algarve."
PIcante is open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week. The restaurant is located on the Mezzanine floor of the Four Points by Sheraton, Bur Dubai on Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street, Bur Dubai and has a poolside terrace available for dinner.
