It is also a testament to the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Emiratization, and RTA Strategic Plan, which sets among its strategic goals to make the RTA the first career choice of qualified HR. This can only be achieved through enhancing the competitive edge of the RTA in attracting highly qualified professionals, building a comprehensive employee motivation & retention system, in addition to caring for upgrading and promoting the scientific and practical skills of employees. The RTA has charted out a comprehensive program to carry out these directives comprising holding of qualifying & training courses to upgrade its human resources.

“Among the key qualifying programs introduced by the RTA in this regard is Qiaydi; which has been undertaken in collaboration with Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development with the aim of leveraging the abilities & skills of senior Emirati staff to groom them for holding responsibilities of higher job grades. The RTA has recently celebrated the first batch of Qiyadi 1 Program graduates comprising 33 male & female Directors & Managers in various RTA sectors & agencies after completing & passing the requisites & modules of the Program which lasted two years.

The RTA unleashed the second edition of the Program (Qiyadi 2) featuring the participation of 40 employees. At the end of 2010, the RTA launched Rail Agency & Serco Co. Knowledge Transfer Program with the aim of qualifying & training administrative & technical Emirati leaders at the Rail Agency and enhancing their competencies in operating & maintaining the Dubai Metro.

The RTA has also launched a training program named Pioneers ‘Riyada’ with a view to educating its administrative leaders on the vital policies, regulations and operations, disseminating the basic principles, improving corporate communication, achieving the business coherence between various organizational units, and imparting the required administrative & leadership skills in the participants in a way contributing to the overall performance. The RTA has also signed an agreement with the Institution of British Engineers for training a number of fresh graduate Emirati engineers and qualifying them for the full membership of the Institution
