Dubai Culture Underlines Importance Of Cultural Awareness With Employee Engagement Programmes
The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, is underlining the importance of cultural awareness through an array of employee engagement and educational programmes.
Kicking off with cultural awareness tours, over 100 associates working across the various departments in the Authority were taken to important heritage sites in Bur Dubai over four days, including Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, Al Shindagha Historical Neighbourhood, Dubai Creek, Jumeirah Archaeological Site, Jumeirah Grand Masjid, Majlis Ghorfat Umm Al Sheif, and Union House.
The Authority designed a special map and guide to provide its employees with information on the agenda of the tour, in addition to highlighting top facts on the city’s key heritage sites.
Aimed at promoting knowledge and understanding of arts and culture in the city among the Authority’s staff, as well as further instilling its internal brand values of creativity, credibility, excellence, and teamwork among its associates, while strengthening Emirati national identity, Dubai Culture will host a series of tours through the course of the year including key heritage sites in Deira, in addition to an ‘art tour,’ mapping the city’s artistic fabric.
In line with the Authority’s mandate to stimulate dialogue and foster an understanding for the city’s culture and heritage, Dubai Culture will also organise similar cultural awareness tours for the public and Government entities across Dubai, upon request.
Dubai Culture & Arts Authority spearheads and supports several cultural and arts initiatives in Dubai including the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Patrons of the Arts Awards; the Dubai Festival for Youth Theatre; SIKKA Art Fair; Gulf Film Festival; Emirates Airline Festival of Literature; and Art Dubai, among others which have contributed to establishing Dubai as a cultural hub of the region.
