Chevron Al Khalij Supports Dubai Cares In Its ’Walk For Education 2013’
The charity walk aimed to engage the UAE community to support millions of children around the world to access primary education
More than a hundred employees from Chevron, one of the world’s largest integrated energy companies, actively participated in the ‘Walk for Education 2013’ lead by Dubai Cares, the UAE-based philanthropic organization working to improve access to quality primary education for children in developing countries.
The support to Dubai Cares by Chevron is in line with the company’s community engagement goals, which focus on health, education and economic development.
Christopher Bradley, Chevron Al Khalij’s Country Chairman, joined the employees to take part in the Walk at Jumeirah Beach Park. Chevron was the main sponsor of the event.
Commenting on the participation, Bradley said: “Education serves as a force of positive change for underprivileged communities and the focus of Dubai Cares to promote primary education in developing countries is laudable. Our partnership is a testament of our commitment to support communities in which we operate by making a tangible difference in people’s lives.”
For the past three years, Dubai Cares have engaged residents and organisations to walk in solidarity with millions of children who walk long distances to go to school. The walk raised funds to support providing children with access to quality education.
Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Cares, said: “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Chevron Al Khalij for their support and participation in this year’s walk. With the support of such committed organizations and individuals, we have been able to make a tremendous difference by providing millions of children in developing countries with access to quality primary education.”
