Mediclinic City Hospital Supports Dubai Early Childhood Development Center
Mediclinic City Hospital has donated AED 27,000 to support Dubai Early Childhood Development Center’s efforts to help integrate children with disabilities into society. This donation came following a charity drive amongst staff and suppliers to mark its 4th Anniversary in October. The money was raised with donations from Mediclinic City Hospital staff, contributions from suppliers and a lump sum of AED 15,000 from the hospital management.
Dr. Tarek Fathey, Hospital Director at Mediclinic City Hospital said, “As a hospital, the wellbeing of children is very close to our hearts. To celebrate our 4th Anniversary, we were very happy to be able to run this charity appeal amongst our staff and suppliers and raise such an impressive amount for the Dubai Early Child Development Center. Services such as those they provide are in great need in the region, and we wholeheartedly support the work they do. I would like to thank everyone involved.”
“The Dubai Early Childhood Development Center (DECDC) has sought to help integrate children with disabilities into society by offering an excellent network of medical and therapy services in cooperation with strategic partners as a CSR initiative. We thank Mediclinic City Hospital for this humanitarian effort, which reflects its keenness to support and serve the community,” said Dr. Bushra AL Mulla, Director of Social Care and Inclusion, CDA.
The DECDC is a unique early intervention programme, and is the first initiative of its kind in the Middle East to provide state-of-the-art comprehensive services. Supervised by a specialized team, the center provides family-focused, trans-disciplinary assessment and early intervention services to children – from birth to six years – with disabilities and those prone to congenital abnormalities. In addition, it provides families and the community with appropriate support and educational services.
DECDC has implemented an Assessment, Evaluation and Programming System (AEPS) ensuring the best international practices and specialist training for its employees, thereby raising the quality of services available to children enrolled with it.
