• HP Middle East Supports IDC CIO Summit For Third Year Running

HP Middle East today announced its participation as Summit Partner in the 2013 IDC Middle East CIO Summit, taking place in Dubai on February 18-19th.

During the summit HP will examine the changing landscape Middle East CIOs are facing in 2013, and how businesses can develop asset management strategies to drive down costs and increase efficiency.

HP will deliver the key note address at the summit, broached the subject of how CIOs in the region can build the business case for IT investment and technological refresh to boost their enterprises’ productivity.

“In today’s global economic conditions, businesses are facing declining budgets for IT, yet with an expectation to deliver more for less. This has increased pressure on IT departments to justify its business to not only CIO level, but CFO levels as well,” said Eyad Shihabi, Managing Director, HP Middle East. “HP has worked to develop ways in which businesses can secure their IT investments, taking into account both IT imperatives and financial constraints, which will be looked at during this year’s summit.”

The role of Converged Infrastructure in enabling CIOs to maximize IT performance for lower costs is seen as key to enterprises. Up to 75 percent of organizations plan to expand, upgrade or implement converged infrastructure within the next year in a bid to deliver increased services to their clients while working within tight budget constraints.

To compete in this instant age, organizations need an IT infrastructure that enables agile and rapid service delivery. They expect their IT organizations to deliver applications and services that are fast, always available, scalable, and interoperable while driving down costs.

On the opening day of the summit HP will look at how IT departments can deliver these results. By creating a business plan around streamlining operations using Converged Infrastructure, businesses can have IT teams free from managing hardware and data centers and able to focus on managing the IT tools that make employees more productive.

Data from an IDC survey prior to the summit highlighted that Convergence Infrastructure, compared to a traditional model, can lower annual IT costs by 90 percent, and the average time to deploy can be reduced to less than six days. With the right planning and the correct converged IT infrastructure, the region’s enterprises can satisfy clients in the current ‘instant’ business landscape

The IDC Middle East CIO Summit 2013 will take place at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai on February 18-19th.
