Dubai Duty Free’s Third Annual Blood Donation Campaign A Success
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts to assist the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dubai Duty Free organised its annual blood donation campaign among its employees in coordination with Dubai Blood Donation Centre (DBDC) of Latifa Hospital earlier this month.
The campaign embodies the retailer’s commitment and work in line with its social responsibility program that aims to serve the community through raising health awareness in the community and among its staff.
The donation took place at Dubai Duty Free head office, enabling employees to donate blood conveniently between the hours of 9:00am to 1:00pm. All of the logistics of the campaign including the provision of equipment, donation tools and medical staff were provided by DBDC and coordinated by Dubai Duty Free in-house Corporate Responsibility department.
A total of 64 pints of blood were collected from ninety (90) Dubai Duty Free management and staff volunteers. A ‘Donor Card’ will be issued exclusively to the new donors as a proof of their support.
Dubai Duty Free’s Executive Vice Chairman, Colm McLoughlin commented on the campaign: “We are delighted to work with Dubai Blood Donation Centre for this third annual blood donation drive. I thank everyone who voluntarily came forward to take part in this campaign which is vitally important to the community here in the UAE.”
At the end of the donation drive, the medical team of the Dubai Blood Donation Centre commended the participation of Dubai Duty Free’s employees and welcomed the commitment of more contribution to the blood center in the near future.
