DIB Signs Memorandum Of Understanding With Emirates Institute For Banking And Financial Studies At National Career Exhibition
DIB receives Human Resources Award from EIBFS in recognition of its Emiratisation achievements
Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Emirates Institute of Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS) at the National Career Exhibition in Sharjah, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
Both EIBFS and DIB will launch this new initiative, in partnership with The National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority (TANMIA). Under the terms of the MoU, DIB will recruit and train 60 UAE Nationals as part of the EIBFS’s new “MASRAFI” Emiratisation initiative, as well as host regular open days for job seekers interested in a career in financial services.
DIB’s participation in the 15th National Career Exhibition in Sharjah is part of a wider series of initiatives under which the bank is actively supporting 2013 as the year of Emiratisation, in line with the UAE Government’s direction to make Emiratisation a national priority at all levels.
“As the UAE economy strengthens, this year’s National Career Exhibition is one of the busiest as talented young people come together to map out their future careers,” said Obaid Al Shamsi, Chief of Human Resources, Dubai Islamic Bank. “We are honoured to be the first bank in the UAE to support the MASRAFI initiative through which we will recruit, train, counsel and monitor 60 UAE nationals. Thanks to the major investment of the UAE government into education, the country’s employers are able to choose from graduates of exceptional calibre. This year, in response to strong growth across our operations, DIB intends to fully utilise that talent pool by recruiting Emirati graduates to fill key roles within the bank.”
Recognising DIB’s achievements in Emiratisation, the bank received the Human Resources Award from EIBFS on the sidelines of the National Career Exhibition. Talking about the award, Al Shamsi added: “The recognition from EIBFS is welcome and a testament to the work undertaken by the bank”.
Being held over three days starting 20th February 2013, the National Career Exhibition is open to Emirati graduates, post-graduates and professionals seeking employment, training and internship opportunities. With more than 18,000 visitors attending each year, it has become a key component of DIB’s strategy to recruit talented UAE Nationals.
