table 9 by nick & scott At Hilton Dubai Creek Is Acknowledged As Best In Dubai
Young Chefs Alvis & Price Are Building Up Credibility In The Competitive Dubai Dining Scene
table 9, one of Dubai’s most talked about restaurants, has scooped four premium awards in the latest round of honours - and in only their second year of business.
The restaurant, which created a buzz as soon as it opened late 2011, picked up Motivate Publishing’s "What’s On Magazine", CPI’s "BBC Good Food Middle East" and ITP’s "Esquire" men’s magazine, who have all named table 9 as the city’s best in their annual ceremonies over the last few months.
"It is great to have such strong support from our regular guests and the local media. These awards are huge drivers for our young team," said Nick Alvis, chef patron of table 9 and BBC Good Food Middle East’s 2012 Chef of the Year.
The new style of dining at table 9, with small and large tasting plates, was new to the Dubai dining scene when the restaurant first opened so there is a particular sense of achievement in these latest awards. Scott Price, chef patron added, "We set out to do things differently when we opened, not really knowing what the market’s response would be. As you can imagine we are really thrilled with the feedback so far."
Their quickly growing list of awards now includes: Esquire Magazine: Number 1 Restaurant in the Middle East 2013, BBC Good Food Middle East: Restaurant of the year 2012, BBC Good Food Middle East: Chef of the Year 2012, What’s On Magazine: Restaurant of the year 2012, What’s On Magazine: Best Modern European Restaurant 2012, Time Out: Best Newcomer Highly Commended 2012, Ahlan Hot 100 Restaurants 2012.
Many new initiatives are on the horizon in year two for the talented young team which will continue to delight the foodies of Dubai. Media can access additional information about table 9 and the Hilton Dubai Creek at http://news.hilton.com/dubaicreek.
