DEWA Strengthens Infrastructure With New Project To Extend Cable Network For Transmitting 132 KV Power
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed a contract for a new 132 kV electricity cable network for the Gardens and Dubai Investment Park area, in Dubai as part of its strategic plan to further strengthen its infrastructure by boosting the capacity and efficiency of its electricity transmission networks. The AED 19.5 million project is expected to be completed in February 2014.
“Led by our vision to become a sustainable world-class utility, DEWA contributes effectively to the social, economic and environmental development of the emirate, by providing uninterrupted and stable electricity and water services to achieve the vision of Dubai,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.
“The new cable network further strengthens our infrastructure and enables us to provide swift and efficient power supply to our customers. The length of the new cables network is up to 26 kilometres, and covers a wide area in Jebel Ali, with the scope of work covering the supply and drilling of extensions, testing, commissioning, and managing links with existing networks,” added Al Tayer.
“Reliability in all areas of our network is our primary concern, as it contributes to further establishing Dubai as a global hub for trade, finance and tourism, and securing the supply of reliable energy for various uses,” concluded Al Tayer.
