Two Major UK Bands Headline At Taste Of Dubai
The Noisettes and Counterfeit Beatles confirmed for city’s favourite food, drink and music festival
The organisers of Taste of Dubai have revealed a fresh new line up of musical acts that will take to the Entertainment Stage, sponsored by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, when the festival opens later this month.
The Counterfeit Beatles and The Noisettes will fly into Dubai from the UK to headline the Saturday evening music bill at this year’s food, drink and music festival, which is expected to receive more than 25,000 visitors.
Providing the best soundtrack to a weekend of incredible cuisine, the Entertainment Stage will also star regional musicians Lisa Theunissen and The Makers, Rachael Calladine and The Everyday People, and The Boxtones, as well as a selection of Virgin Radio DJs, fire dancers and samba performers.
Presented by Philips, Taste of Dubai returns to the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre from 14 to 16 March 2013 with a record number of the city’s best restaurants. Visitors will be able to sample the most popular dishes from 30 restaurants, enjoy beverages from seven bars all while kicking back and relaxing in a true al fresco festival vibe.
The Counterfeit Beatles have established themselves as one of the UK’s most sought after acts, with many in the music business claiming they are the best Beatles tribute band in the world.
As a headline act on the main stage at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival alongside Coldplay, Elvis Costello, Primal Scream and Bjork to an international crowd of 80,000, the band counts former Oasis front man and lead singer of Beady Eye, Liam Gallagher as a fan. They are scheduled to perform a selection of the most loved Beatles classics live to the Taste of Dubai crowd and fans on Saturday March 16th afternoon.
Having never performed in Dubai before, The Noisettes are an indie rock band from London who achieved nationwide recognition when their single, “Don’t Upset the Rhythm (Go Baby Go)” reached number two on the UK singles chart.
Singer and bassist Shingai Shoniwa and guitarist Dan Smith will be the closing band to bring the house down at Taste of Dubai on the evening of Saturday 16 March 2013 delivering an extravagant DJ and vocal set which will include a selection of their most popular songs.
