DIB Holds Performance Excellence Award Ceremony To Reward Outstanding Employees
Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) held its annual Performance Excellence Award ceremony, an event to recognise and reward employees of the bank and its subsidiaries for their outstanding performance and achievements. More than 1,500 employees from DIB and its subsidiaries attended the award ceremony, held recently at Dubai World Trade Centre.
DIB introduced the Performance Excellence Awards in 2002 to create a platform to deliver the highest standards of customer service and enhance the level of customer satisfaction. Earlier this year, the bank aligned the awards with the Excellence Models of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) and Dubai Quality Award (DQA).
The event was presided over by His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of His Highness The Ruler’s Court of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Islamic Bank. Speaking at the ceremony, he said: “2012 was a very strong year for Dubai Islamic Bank as we consolidated our position as the UAE’s leading Islamic bank. Being the leader would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our employees. We thank all our employees for their contributions in creating a culture of excellence at DIB, helping us to achieve our vision of being the most progressive Islamic financial institution in the world.”
The event began with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by the Chairman and the CEO’s address to the gathering. This was followed by the main award ceremony where awards for Best Employee, Best Project, Best DIB Subsidiary, Long Service, and the CEO’s Award were given out. The event also included a performance by Emirati actor Bilal Abdullah.
Also speaking at the event, Abdulla Al Hamli, CEO of DIB said: “The Performance Excellence Awards are awarded to outstanding individuals as well as business and support teams at the bank and its subsidiaries. The awards are decided based on global best practices, through independent and impartial assessors. We believe that through these awards, we not only recognise our employees’ contribution but also offer them an avenue for professional development.”
