5th Emirates Classic Car Festival Kicks Off With Largest Showcase Of Classic Cars And Motorbikes
Underlining its position as one of the most-awaited lifestyle events in the city, the fifth edition of the Emirates Classic Car Festival kicked off with the largest showcase of classic cars and motorbikes to date.
Featuring a line-up of more than 200 classic cars and motorbikes, the event, on the spectacular Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai, will be held until March 9, 2013.
Some of the highlights of the fifth edition include Bentleys from the 1920s, which participated in the Blue Train Race between London and Nice, making a powerful appearance in Nice, before the arrival of the train; and a 1980 Delorean, similar to the model showcased in the critically acclaimed Back to the Future movies, marking its UAE premiere.
Visitors can vote for their favourite cars and motorbikes for ‘The Best of Show: The Public Choice’ award. Voting booths are placed across the Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard for easy access.
Organised by Emaar Properties PJSC, the UAE Ministry of Culture, Youth, & Community Development, and the Automobile Touring Club of the United Arab Emirates (ATCUAE), the Emirates Classic Car Festival is held in Downtown Dubai, billed as ‘The Centre of Now.’
Downtown Dubai is one of the most prestigious lifestyle communities that features The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination; and The Dubai Fountain, the world’s tallest performing fountain, in addition to luxury hotels, homes and offices.
