University Of Dubai Holds Annual Job Fair
Students come hoping to take a first step on career path
The University of Dubai (UD) is expecting to see hundreds of its students and alumni come to the Clover Hotel in Deira on March 12 to visit 25 of some of Dubai’s top companies. They will meet with companies, take interviews and hand out CV’s in hopes of securing a job or internship. At UD’s job fair last year, students and alumni were able to secure full-time jobs in a variety of positions from pilots in Dubai’s top airlines to accountants in the world’s top auditing firms.
This year, the job fair offers a variety of companies in both private and public sectors, from large, international corporations to local, specialized firms: Bab Al Shabab, Bayt.com, Carrefour, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Dubai Air Navigation Services, Dubai Courts, Economic Zones World, Emirates NBD, Ershaad.ae, Fly Dubai, Freight Systems Co. Ltd. (LLC), Gradberry.com, Jumeirah Group, Mashreq, Mawaarid Finance, M.H. Alshaya, Nabbesh.com, Next Level Management Consultancy, Pact Employment Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), Robert Bosch Middle East, Serco Middle East and Virgin Megastore.
The companies will be looking to hire the best in the fields of business and information technology from the university’s talented pool of soon-to-be graduating and recently-graduated students. In addition to being recognized by the UAE’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR), the University of Dubai also holds two distinctive international accreditations – one for their business program from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and one for their information systems program from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The requirements that the university must meet in order to maintain these accreditations are what ensures the quality of education at the university and makes its students strong candidates for employment. Out of all the institutions of higher education in the UAE, only three have the AACSB accreditation for a business program and only one has the ABET accreditation for an information systems program.
