MORE To Host ’Woven Treasures By Sougha’ At Mirdif City Centre
Handicraft exhibition to highlight creativity of local artisans
Award-winning UAE-grown restaurant chain MORE Café, will host an exhibition titled ‘Woven Treasures by Sougha’ at its Mirdif City Centre outlet on March 14, 2013.
The event, which begins at 10.00 am, will showcase traditional hand-woven items by Sougha, a Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development programme. It will give customers an opportunity to meet and interact with the Emirati women artisans who make the handicrafts.
Visitors to the exhibition will be provided complimentary breakfast at MORE on the day.
Introduced by Leila Bin-Gacem, who heads Sougha, the one-day event is a chance to encourage and participate in the growth of the skilled local artisans.
SOUGHA is a social enterprise initiative and launched by Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, aimed at creating opportunities for Emiratis with entrepreneurial potential.
In addition, it seeks to preserve the Emirati heritage through headhunting skilled local crafts men and women all over the UAE, and then improve their technical and entrepreneurial skills to enable them to seize market opportunities.
