’Power Brands Dubai’ Targets To Enhance Awareness On Consumer Rights And Product Quality
Exhibition held as part of the first-ever Dubai World Conference on Consumer Rights will shed light on best practices in manufacturing, retailing and consumer rights protection
The most advanced standards and practices in ensuring product quality and consumer rights protection will be on display at the ‘Power Brands Dubai’ scheduled to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from the 1st to 3rd of April 2013.
Leading consumer brands and companies in Dubai have confirmed their participation in the exhibition held as part of the first-ever Dubai World Conference on Consumer Rights (DWCCR) hosted by the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai with the support of Dubai Refreshment company (DRC) and Al Fajer Information & Services.
“Power Brands Dubai will be unique in its emphasis on creating awareness among consumers on their right to quality, safety and value for money. The exhibition has already evoked a high level of interest in the retail and allied sectors with 85 per cent of the space already booked by customer-oriented brands in varied sectors,” stated Mohammed Rashid Lootah, Deputy Chief Executive officer, Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector, DED.
Nearly 85 companies representing major brands in diverse sectors such as building materials, automobiles, tyres, retail chains, hypermarkets, banking products, and legal services, in addition to leading retailers supporting the conference and exhibition have confirmed their participation in Power Brands Dubai.
The exhibition is open to public on all three days. “Visitors to Power Brands Dubai will find a lot of useful information on best practices in product life cycle, manufacturing, quality assurance and differentiation, which they normally do not get at a point of sale. It will also help consumers understand what all they are entitled to by virtue of making a purchase,” Lootah said adding that a number of participants plan to launch new products at the exhibition.
In order to attract more brands and companies and ensure diversity in Power Brands Dubai, DED is allowing participants to run three-week long promotions of their products in outlets across the emirate of Dubai during the event. Companies can contact the organisers on the website www.dwrcc.com to express their interest in attending Power Brands Dubai.
Over 500 delegates are expected to attend the Dubai World Conference on Consumer Rights, a first-of-its-kind event on protecting consumer rights and intellectual property rights (IPR) across the retail sector in the Middle East. The conference will host a number of international and local opinion leaders and decision-makers, including executives, government officials, economists and researchers from different industry sectors, and other professionals dealing with consumer protection and brands globally.
Power Brands Dubai will meanwhile feature major trademarks worldwide to exchange views and discuss the most prominent concepts related to brands and their promotion. Standing at the forefront of consumer forums worldwide, the participating companies will seize the opportunity to demonstrate progressive policies and interact with traders and investors, while also enhancing their brand visibility and credibility.
