• Learners From GEMS Schools Achieve Top Results In The University Of Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards

    16 learners from 5 GEMS schools in the UAE have today, received prestigious awards to acknowledge their outstanding performance in the 2012 University of Cambridge International examinations.

    The Outstanding University of Cambridge Learner Awards, also known as the H.H Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards, celebrates the success of learners taking Cambridge examinations in over 40 countries around the world. Cambridge places learners at the centre of their international education programmes and qualifications which are inspired by the best in educational thinking.

    Harshil Niraj Dhanky from The Cambridge High School, Abu Dhabi was awarded the impressive Top of the World Category in IGCSE Travel and Tourism. 13 of his fellow GEMS students received the Top of the UAE Category (5 in IGCSE, 6 in AS Level and 2 in A Level) and a further two were recognized in the IGCSE High Achievement category.     Mr Gordon Slaven, Director of the British Council, UAE and Mr Simon Higgins, Regional Manager CIE, MENA attended the event and congratulated all receiving students.

The results are a reflection of the enormous talent in the UAE, not only amongst learners but also within the teaching profession.
