GE is highlighting its broad spectrum of advanced technologies that enhance operational efficiencies across the oil & gas sector at the Middle East Turbomachinery Symposium held until March 20, 2013, at the Qatar National Convention Center in Doha.
GE is showcasing its cutting edge technologies at the exhibition, while technical experts, representing diverse businesses of the company, are presenting technical papers and case studies that discuss key operational aspects of the industry.
With a dedicated stand of 54 square meters area, GE’s stand 301 hosts a wide range of technologies covering its Turbomachinery, Global Services, Measurement & Controls and Intelligent Platforms businesses, which provide customers with solutions aimed at increasing resource recovery, maximizing operational efficiency and reducing environmental footprint.
Rami Qasem, President & CEO of GE Oil & Gas MENAT, said: “GE has established long-term partnerships in Qatar and through our participation in the event, we are demonstrating the cutting edge technologies that ultimately help the industry to enhance the efficiency of operations while reducing the environmental footprint.”
Qasem added: “As one of the vital industries of Qatar, sustainable growth of the oil & gas sector is of strategic importance, and we are committed to work with our partners in line with the goals outlined by the Qatar National Vision 2030. By showcasing the strengths of our different businesses, we are presenting a holistic approach to further promote the oil & gas sector of Qatar, and share with our partners our new industry insights that have evolved through years of hands-on research and development.”
At the exhibition GE Oil & Gas Turbomachinery is displaying scale models of its MS5002E heavy duty gas turbine which is an upgraded version of GE’s MS5002 product line, and offers high efficiency, low emissions and a proven service life to customers. The MS5002E has reached more than 16 million operating hours worldwide operating in both mechanical drive and power generation applications - and the DDHF pump, which is a multistage centrifugal pump with double casing and barrel-type, back-to-back arrangement. Based on GE’s proven hydraulic design, it has been specially re-engineered for CO2 pumping and EOR and delivers 540 bar discharge pressure – the highest ever provided by a centrifugal pump.
GE Oil & Gas Global Services is also presenting its offerings in monitoring & diagnostics, customer training programs, and innovative solutions such as the Oregen system, which recovers waste heat from gas turbine exhaust and converts it into electric energy; GE’s Filter House technology, which is a multistage air filtration system specifically designed for gas turbines operating in harsh environments; and GE’s Power Crystal kit, which safely enhances power output.
GE Oil & Gas Measurement & Controls business highlights its solutions for condition monitoring, both portable and continuous, of rotating machinery through its proven Bently Nevada product line. It includes the market-leading System 1 condition monitoring and diagnostics platform as well as wireless monitoring, motor monitoring and in situ scanning, diagnostic and surveillance system and portable vibration analyzers to offer a truly integrated condition monitoring solution for customers. Also on display will be its range of valves including Masoneilan control valves and consolidated pressure relief valves, and a range of roots blowers that has been meeting air delivery needs for more than 150 years.
GE Intelligent Platforms is highlighting a new partnership between Bently Nevada and Proficy SmartSignal for the oil & gas sector. Predictive-analytic services powered by SmartSignal now are available from Bently Nevada, along with its System 1 Services. The SmartSignal capabilities bring advanced predictive analytics to System 1 and, together, they provide a comprehensive predictive and diagnostic asset-management platform with broad asset coverage. The partnership combines foresight and insight, enabling companies to proactively manage their fleets.
With a presence spanning over 80 years, and more than 1,000 turbines with installed capacity of over 70 gigawatts (approximately half of the total installed power of the region), GE is a leader in supporting the Middle East region’s needs for sustainable energy, water resources, and infrastructure growth. GE has been supporting Qatar’s development for nearly 40 years today with advanced energy technology solutions and services as well as expanding investments and knowledge sharing initiatives.
