Modhesh Spreads Summer Cheer Among The Elderly
Modhesh, the cartoon character that is everyone’s favourite embodiment of the summer festivities in Dubai, paid a surprise visit to the denizens of the Elderly Centre to spread Dubai Summer Surprises’ (DSS) message of celebration.
The visit was part of the efforts to communicate with the elderly and get them involved in the joyful events of the DSS, which is organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). The DSS is a part of the DFRE’s unprecedented three-month long “Summer is Dubai†campaign this year, which started on June 7 and goes on until September 7, comprising Modhesh World, “Ramadan in Dubai†and “Eid in Dubaiâ€.
Modhesh spent a full hours at the centre and made sure he left everyone happy and in high spirits when he left. A group of children also accompanied Modhesh on his trip and interacted with the elderly people, bringing them much happiness. Everyone enjoyed two DSS performances – Dancing Toys and Modhesh Meet and Greet - during the cuddly yellow fellow’s visit. The shows were loved by both the young and the old while lots of pictures were taken with Modhesh. A feast of sweets made the occasion even more enjoyable.
