A feast of National Day activities at Mega Mall

Celebrations to include 42nd UAE National Day Stamp Exhibition

Mega Mall Sharjah is ready for a memorable celebration of the 42nd UAE National Day with a packed line up of entertainment set to take place from the 1st to the 4th of December.

The popular Sharjah retail and leisure destination will be the scene of a host of fun filled activities, including face painting and arts and craft activities for the younger lot and an array of Arabic heritage displays for adults. Mega Mall Sharjah has also organized a range of vibrant Emirate folklore songs and dance performances that will further be complemented by a variety of similar international performances from countries all over the world, courtesy of the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Mega Mall’s festivities won’t end on the 4th either, as from the 5th to the 9th some of the worlds rarest and most valuable postage stamps will also be on display at the mall when it hosts the 42nd UAE National Day Stamp Exhibition - Sharjah, 2013.

The exhibition, a collaborative effort between Mega Mall and the Emirates Philately Association, will feature an international touring collection of stamps, last exhibited in Rio de Janeiro, and will bring philately experts from all corners of the world together under one roof.

Now an annual event in its fourth year, the Mega Mall Sharjah stamp exhibition will also showcase the United Arab Emirate’s rarest and most notable stamps.

The event, a celebration of the UAE’s rich culture and heritage, is being supported by the Sharjah Expo, who is providing all of the logistical support needed to run this premier event.

Speaking ahead of the event, Saeed bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Vice-President, Mega Mall Sharjah said: "We are very proud to be able to stage the 42nd UAE National Day Stamp Exhibition - Sharjah, 2013 exhibition at Mega Mall Sharjah.

"The event is intended both as a celebration of the United Arab Emirates as it reaches the milestone of it 42nd National Day and of the diverse cultures and nationalities that live in this wonderful country.

"Stamps played a very important role in the history of the United Arab Emirates, and visitors to the exhibition will be fascinated to see the wide array of rare and interesting stamps that are on display.

"We will be celebrating National Day in style at Mega Mall Sharjah, with plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy and we look forward to welcoming as many visitors as possible."

Abdulla Mohammed Khoory, President, Emirates Philately Association said: "We are very excited by the news that Mega Mall Sharjah has been selected as a host destination for the World Tour Exhibition stamp display.

"We look forward to showing philately experts and collectors from all corners of the world the best of modern Arabian hospitality, and to discussing with visitors the cultural significance of the displayed stamps.
