"Little Red Riding Hood" Ice Show At Sharjah Ladies Club

Under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Investment & Development Authority – Shurooq, Deputy Chairperson of Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC). SLC held its annual ice skating show “Little Red Riding Hood” on ice, sponsored by Pandora. The event was attended by Khawla Al Serkal, Director of Sharjah Ladies Club, and a number of vips and managers of governmental institutes.

Little Red Riding hood on ice show performed by SLC’s ice skating team, telling the famous French fairy tale about a young girl walks through the woods to deliver food to her sickly grandmother and a mean wolf who wants to eat the girl and the food in the basket. The show continued for an hour, where skaters were able to show off their talents in a fantasia atmosphere. The show concluded with a great applause and admiration from the audience by the skaters performance.

After that, the ice skating team, numbered to 29 ice skaters was awarded, ages ranging between 7-20 years old, along with trainers Olysea Bragi and Teglasi Tamara, who were praised on their excellence and performance. Gifts were distributed amongst the ice skaters brought by Pandora.

“The ice skating show is considered one of the most important annual events the club holds annually showcasing the team’s skating skills inspired from famous stories performed on ice. I would like express my sincere thanks to my team, which in return were able to express and provide a great performance, dazzling and impressing the audience by their beautiful performances. Therefore it was not easy because it requires a lot of professionalism and tense training which takes a number of hours on the ice surface. Since these kind of shows only requires talents that not anyone can provide, but only professionals, and thankfully the team are capable to provide such best shows, possessing sufficient experience in the field of ice skating, through the continuous of participating in local and Arabic tournaments which itself qualifies them such great shows”, said Tamara Teglasi , ice skating team coach at the Sharjah Ladies Club.

“Our ice skating show in considered one of our most important annual events which the club holds that aims in encouraging hobbies and talents, in providing a platform for our ice skating team to showcase their talents and develop it professionally. As there was always constant interest from Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi and continuous follow up from HE Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, which fully reflects their interest in everything related to the club’s activities. We thank all who put great effort to bring this great performance that won the admiration of all attendees and we hope to continue to provide such more interesting stories on the surface of the ice in the future’, Said Khawla Al Serkal.

AL Serkal also pointed out that the “Little Red Riding Hood” show continued for a period of three days, where children, parents and the public were able to attend and watch the interesting show on ice at the SLC, where the show started at 6 Pm.

Moreover, Basateen Preschool Center of SLC were thanked for the decorations inspired by the story reflecting the forest atmosphere which the story takes place in.
