Beit Al Khair Society Signs MoU With University Of Dubai

Beit Al Khair Society has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Dubai (UD) in a bid to strengthen their relationship and offer mutual benefits to both parties. The MoU was signed by AbdeenTaher Al Awadi, General Manager, Beit Al Khair Society and Dr. Eesa Bastaki, President, University of Dubai.

According to the MoU, UD faculty members will participate in the society’s charitable activitiesand in return, Beit Al Khair Society will support the Takaful Fund for students,offering financial support for those who require additional financial aid. The society will also offer training opportunities and volunteer placements to UD studentswith an interest in developing their skills through charity work and social services.

Dr. Eesa said: “The University of Dubai is committed to offering support to our students across the UAE who are unable to fund their own education, and present them with educational opportunities which will enable them to play a role in the development of the UAE.”

He added: “The signing of this MoU with Beit Al Khair Society reflects our belief in the highest quality education, and its role in developing a knowledgeable society. We are proud to support this noble cause which is aligned with the UAE’s aim to support individuals in their contribution to the development of the country as a whole.”

AbdeenTaher Al Awadi, General Manager, Beit Al Khair Society said: “The signing of this MoU with the University of Dubai is in line with our approach to co-operate with educational bodies in the UAE to provide support to students who are unable to fund their own education, as well as offer opportunitiesto students interested in participating in charity work. Such agreements are essential in offering students who are sponsored by the society, as well as employees of the society, the opportunity to access higher education.”

Al Awadiwent on to explain thatBeit Al Khair Society has recently signed several MoUs with other universities as well as the Higher College of Technology (HCT), to offer similar support. He also mentioned that Beit Al Khair Society provides annual support to around 19,000 students across the UAE, through a special programme which includes students from kindergarten through to higher education.

The MoU encourages university students who receive financial support fromBeit Al Khair Society, as well as society employees, to enroll at the University of Dubai to complete their further studies. It will also entitle them to receive a scholarship with 20 per cent discount on University of Dubai fees.

UD will also offer workshops and opportunities to exchange ideas between the university and Beit Al Khair Society, with regard to topics related to charity efforts. The society will participate in reviewing dissertations, as well as organising mutual charitable and cultural activities within the university.
