International Artist Ed Miracles Artworks To Be Exhibited At Cove Rotana In Ras Al-Khaimah
Artissima Gallery, under the patronage of Ras Al-Khaimah Tourism, is hosting an exhibition of his works entitled 'Tradition', which opens at 7pm tomorrow, May 19th, and continues until the 25th.
Ed Miracle, a Navy veteran and self-taught artist, began his illustrious career after a wry pen-and-ink drawing of sailing ships falling off the edge of the earth, captioned "I Told You So", became a hit, leading him to re-create the piece in oils. In 1984, Miracle moved to Europe and continued working on private collections in the U.A.E. and around the world. Today, his work in the form of paintings and sculptures, is hosted in galleries and in private collections globally with some of his most inspiring pieces owned by art cognoscenti in the U.A.E..
The Cove Rotana exhibition features Ed's works in the exciting form of 'Gicle'. This is a form of fine art reproduction where the original image of the painting is digitally printed via inkjet onto canvas. According to Aurela Cuku, Managing Partner, Artissima Gallery, the benefits of printing on canvas are second to none as it provides extremely high quality reproductions of the original while maintaining the vast colour pallets the artist created.
"While the idea of the Gicle is rapidly growing in popularity throughout the world, it is relatively new to the Middle East and we are hoping to spark its growth by introducing a selection of works by artist Edward D. Miracle," Aurela said.
Miracle spent over ten years in the Middle East and works created during this period are held in collections in Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar, as well as being hung in various foreign embassies, companies and in private collections. His works are also on permanent display in various palaces, museums and at The Gold Centre in Sharjah.
