Al-Futtaim Honda Introduces The All-New 2014 Honda City In The UAE

Al-Futtaim Honda, exclusive distributors of Honda vehicles in the UAE has announced the availability of the all-new 2014 Honda CITY across all its showrooms.

The all-new CITY encompasses the best of Honda’s technologies to deliver advanced sporty design, best comfort and best fuel efficiency in its category.

Compared to its previous generation, which was launched in 2009, the new CITY has undergone a complete design change based on a grand concept of an ‘Advanced Cool Sporty Car’ that has a stunning presence with its dynamic stance, outstanding fuel efficiency, comfortable and spacious interiors. It aims to reflect sophistication and vigor while in motion and a striking charisma when stationary.

The all-new 2014 Honda CITY lineup features three grades with the introduction of a new base grade, DX, followed by LX and the top of the line EX. All three grades are powered with a 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine which delivers a maximum power of 118hp @ 6600rpm and a maximum torque of 14.8kg-m @ 4600rpm. This engine is mated to the new generation CVT transmission.

The 2014 CITY delivers cleverly generated interior space that exceeds its class by further evolving Honda’s ‘man maximum, machine minimum’ philosophy which aims at maximizing space available for people and minimizing the space required for mechanical components.

This design philosophy has enabled the CITY to achieve class leading rear legroom, superior head clearance and knee room. The trunk space is again a class leading 510 liters.

The CITY uses high tensile steel along with new body structure to achieve lightweight and high rigidity sedan body structure to support driving and package. It has a completely new design, high balance chassis system which offers comfort with safety. The car has new geometry MacPherson Strut front suspension and high rigidity H-shaped twist beam rear suspension that provides operational stability and comfortable ride.

CITY adopts a high rigidity and new controlled electronic power steering which delivers a high quality steering feel.

The all-new CITY’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body enhances self-protection while mitigating damage to other vehicles in the event of a collision. The CITY features a host of Honda’s active and passive safety technologies including pedestrian injury mitigation technology, driver and front passenger SRS airbags, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) which prevents wheel locking, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) which enhances braking performance and impact mitigating headrests reducing possibility of neck injury in rear impacts.

The 2014 model offers a host of advanced interior equipment, equipped for the first time in its class. Cruise control and Bluetooth HFT phone controls come as standard features on the all-new CITY.

The advanced Display Audio equipped on LX/EX grades with a 7” TFT touch screen seamlessly integrates some smartphone features. Aside from smartphone integration, the 7” Display Audio plays multi-functional roles like Bluetooth Hands-free Telephone connectivity, audio system with AM/FM, USB, Bluetooth streaming channels and detailed trip computer information.

Another first in its class feature is an available Auto Air-Conditioning system on the EX grade with Touch screen control panel and available rear AC vents which enhances HVAC efficiency.

The top of the line EX grade is also equipped with Smart Entry with one-push engine Start/Stop button and ‘Paddle Shift’ option which can be operated in both D and S mode and allows driver to enjoy a manual transmission-like driving feel.

On the exterior, 16” sporty alloy wheels and stylish fog lamps are equipped on EX grade, shark fin antenna on the LX/EX grade and sleek turn indicators on the door mirrors as standard equipment positions the all-new Honda CITY a class above the rest.

The new CITY is available in six exciting range of colors – White Orchid Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Carnelian Red Pearl and newly introduced Golden Brown Metallic.

Al-Futtaim Honda is offering CITY customers 5 years or 100,000kms warranty as standard.

In the UAE, the DX model starts from AED 57,000, LX starting from AED 59,000 and EX from AED 66,000.
