MBRF, UNESCO Discuss Frameworks Of Joint Cooperation
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) welcomed a UNESCO cultural sector representative and held talks on potential cooperation in areas of common interest.
In a meeting held in the presence of His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, Managing Director MBRF, and Mohamed Weld Khtar from the UNESCO’s (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) representative of culture sector in the Maghreb Countries, the two sides looked at the cultural movement in the region and explored ways to work together on the sector. They also discussed possibilities of strengthening the role of culture in community awareness and reinforcing the inherent culture and civilization of each community.
Weld Khtar praised the leading role of the United Arab Emirates and Dubai in supporting the activities and cultural projects at the regional and international levels. Pointing to Dubai’s key position as a centre of arts and culture that attracts millions of creative minds from around the world, Weld Khtar said Dubai can become the ideal platform for joint initiatives on strengthening intercultural dialogue and the exchange of cultures.
Jamal bin Huwaireb said MBRF is happy to be part of UNESCO’s initiatives that would enrich the cultural movement in the UAE and the region, adding that the MBRF was founded with the objective of transferring and developing knowledge in line on the directions and the vision of the nation’s wise leadership.
