Emiratis Offered Chance To Study Film In Paris
As part of its strategy to foster local talent, Image Nation will offer three lucky Emiratis a chance to take part in the critically acclaimed film school La Fémis’ intensive program in Paris this summer. Total, the French multinational oil and gas company, is sponsoring the fourth Emirati candidate.
The Gulf Summer University program specializes in creative workshops, that will allow students to better understand the roles and tasks that are part of filmmaking today.

Paris is responsible for some of the most important cinematic movements, which makes the vibrant city the ideal place to study film.â€
Located in the historic Pathé Studios in the centre of Paris, La Fémis is ranked as one of the top ten film schools by Hollywood Reporter. The students lucky enough to be selected for the programme will be taught filmmaking theory and practical skills by top tutors in the industry. Trainees will also have the opportunity to discover contemporary French cinema through the study of important French directors.

“This is the first time that the prestigious French film school La Fémis has created a program dedicated specifically to the emerging talents from the Gulf. Those kind of exchanges are essential to nurture the Franco-Emirati cooperation both on a cultural and economic level and participate to the vision of the leadership of the UAE.â€
The 5 week long program will run from August 8 Â September 12 and is open to Emiratis filmmakers aged 21 to 30.
