Dubai Silicon Oasis Launches Techterms App
Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis, the integrated free zone technology park, today announced the launch of the newly developed TechTerms application. Focusing on digital Arabic content, the TechTerms app is DSOA’s first product offering as part of its commitment to Islamic economy initiative.
Developed by DSOA, the app is available in both Arabic and English for free download on IOS and Android devices. The application acts like a search engine for technical words and a technology dictionary. In its first phase, the app is downloadable, whereby users can search for technical words even when offline. In phase two, the app will be made interactive, allowing users to submit new terms for DSOA’s approval and inclusion in the application.
Shahla Ahmed Abdul Razak, Deputy CEO - Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, said: “We are confident the TechTerms app will add significant value to the Islamic economy initiative. This user-friendly app will prove handy to anyone looking for the meaning and explanation of technical terms or jargons. DSOA is committed to supporting creative and innovative youth-driven projects in the fields of Arabic and digital content. We encourage all individuals to benefit from the support and incubational environment at Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre by presenting an innovative idea that supports Arabic and digital contentâ€.
DSOA’s initiative to launch the TechTerms app articulates its commitment to supporting Dubai's ‘Capital of Islamic Economy’ initiative that was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in October 2013.
A wholly-owned entity of the government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone technology park for large enterprises, medium and small companies looking to set up their offices in Dubai.
