Official Smart City Wifi Provider du Chooses Icomera As Dubai Tram Technology Partner

du, the Official Smart City WiFi Provider in Dubai, has chosen Icomera as its technology partner, giving Dubai Tram commuters a cutting-edge WiFi service throughout their journey. Icomera’s X-Series platform supports 4G/LTE backhauling and WiFi internet services is provided through Icomera platform that backhauled over du 4G/LTE network that are available across the tram route and TRAM stations.

The set-up is designed so that users can experience seamless connectivity across trams and stations, accessible via any smart device. The network is already operational in 11 stations and two Trams and installation on the nine remaining trams will be completed soon.

Icomera has been offering mobile Internet solutions for over a decade, matching WiFi and transport providers with the service most suitable for them. The adaptive nature of the X-series platform means that Dubai Tram can keep pace with evolving technologies to remain state-of the-art network. This kind of technology is ideal for Dubai’s Smart City initiative: to make public transport eco-friendly, user-friendly and communicative.
