du Announces Participation In Next Generation Wifi Network Demonstration At Mobile World Congress 2015
Further to fulfilling its commitment as the Smart City Official WiFi Provider in Dubai, du has announced the participation in the Next Generation Hotspot (NGH) and PasspointTM/ Hotspot 2.0 technology demonstration on the WiFi network at the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Spain from 2-5 March. The network, which will be supported by the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) and GSMA, will allow du's attendees at MWC with devices that support Passpoint TM/ Hotspot 2.0 to automatically roam onto the WiFi network using secure credentials and also benefit from a secure Wi-Fi connection.
The platform, provided by Cisco, will demonstrate the full range of NGH and PasspointTM / Hotspot 2.0 capabilities allowing subscribers of du to roam seamlessly onto the public Wi-Fi network at the Fira Gran Via venue. The WiFi network will support subscribers from 30+ operators attending MWC.
