• Dar Al Ber Opens New Branch For Quran Study Project In RAK

Dar Al Ber Society has opened a new branch for its promising Quran memorisation project for females at Al Dheith South area in the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah.

A series of Quran memorisation courses and quizzes have been held to mark the inauguration of the new centre which has been visited by a number of new Muslim women.

Moza Naseeb, the General Coordinator of the Ber Quran memorisation Project for Females, said a three-day exhibition has also been held to showcase items from productive families upon the opening of the centre, in collaboration with the Community Development Centre, RAK.

"The Zayed Females Business Exhibition has also been run in coordination with a number of philanthropists and volunteers in the presence of several staff mentors and coordinators under the Quran memorisation project," she said.

Naseeb continued, "The function saw more than 70 visitors on a daily basis, and the organising committee organised a variety of activities in cooperation with the visitors and young female memorisers who willingly took part in selling sweets, traditional food, clothes, and henna or dye, women's wear, toys, accessories, perfumes, and gifts, and participated in daily raffle draws for valuable prizes.

"The Centre has also held a mass Iftar for 15 new Muslim women in partnership with the Islamic Information Centre of the Dar Al Ber Society to enlighten them about the teachings of Islam as well as its tolerant and noble principles," she added.

Naseeb elaborated that the old centre, located in the old RAK area, saw numerous achievements over the last 15 years of fruitful work and tireless effort in the service of Islam.

"Our memorisers here have brilliantly secured top positions in most of the Quran contests held across the country, and over 350 new students of all ages and nationalities join the memorisation courses every year."

The centre has helped 70 students memorise the Holy Quran in full so far, she said, explaining, "Those are apart from 45 competent memorisers accredited for teaching the Quran, and a variety of memorisation programmes."

Paying tribute to supporters of the project, Naseeb said the centre’s story of success would not have been possible without the dedication of those unsung heroes. "At the top of those is Khalfan Khalifa Al Mazrouie, Chairman of the Dar Al Ber Society, who spares no effort to boost the shining procession of Quran memorisation."
